Has anyone ever tried a canoe saddle in their Pirogue? I have found my boat travels faster when I get up on my knees but would be painful on long distances without some support. I like my bucket seat but I think it might be easier to go to a standing position from a kneel.

I have seen alot of graphite used on the bottoms of some the pirogues found on this forum. I like the look of them. I was wondering how much protection does it give? How do you apply it? And do you need put any UV protection over it? John

What is the best width to make stable enough boat to stand in? My first one was too narrow( 13'8" long x 22" bottom and 29" at the top and center). I have heard 24" bottom and 32" to 34" at the top. Just wanted some of your opinions. I am about to start on another.
