Inlay on a curve before or after shouldn't be a problem. The wood is really thin and pliable and will take a slight bend, if that's what you're worried about.

To help alleviate your fears you could take a couple of 2x4 and cut the slight radius of your curve and use some sort of tie down across them to help hold your inlay in place. You'd only need enough pressure to hold in place so you'd have to watch how much tension you put on your tie-downs.
