    St. Mary's River Sep 2008

We did have lots of owls at night and on Saturday late the coyotes let out a few yelps. Gator dog was good until the last, Chris wouldn't let up on him and he decided a nip in the right place would put him in line. Hated it but you can only tell someone so long to give it a rest and then nature...

    St. Mary's River Sep 2008

It was shaping up to be another great weekend. A small group of us had planned on spending three days and two nights on the St Mary's River and everything was looking right. The plan was to meet at St Mary's Fish Camp at 3 pm on Friday and everyone was right on time. I had stopped for my...

    Bear Kodiak

Also got some Hoyts, Black widows, a Browning, Had to have an Allen compound, Dynabow and a few others. Only one long bow which I competed in 3D's with for several years. Target shooting I relied on my Hoyt takedowns.

    Bear Kodiak

Bows? Definitely do not get into shooting recurves as it is adictive. These are only the ones that I don't take down to store. A few more on the other wall.... I love the short bows but you really have to hunt to find one in the lighter weights so that at a 29 inch draw you have...

    Bear Kodiak

I really like the Bear metal take apart risered bows. I have an A, a B and a C riser with assorted limbs. The little Kodiak Super Magnum is another of my favorites, I just can't shoot it too well as I have a 29 inch draw and they stack so bad. The Kodiak Mags in lighter weights work well for me...

Paddling the St Mary's River in GA 8 Aug 08

You don't mess with his boat, his tent, his truck, or his human! If you get too close he becomes all teeth and it's not a pretty sight. We're going back this weekend and doing it again, hopefully the river and weather will be about the same. I'll get his cape back from the dry cleaners...

Paddling the St Mary's River in GA 8 Aug 08

We believe that he is a Australian. We were told that by a breeder who examined him but we don't know for sure. He has a personality that some like and some don't. Makes him a unique dog for sure.

Paddling the St Mary's River in GA 8 Aug 08

Friday the 8th we met up at St Mary's Fish Camp just outside of Folkston, Ga for a weekend of camping on the St. Mary's River. At 3 pm the crew of 3 men and one dog, Jay, Steve, myself and Westbury, comprised the whole group for this weekend. As it was raining quite hard we waiting for a break...

    Boat design

Has anyone on the forum built and or paddled a Rob Roy? I really like the size and looks of the ones I have seen plans for but really don't want to be limited to sitting on the floor and using a kayak paddle. I have seen pictures of the built boat with a small raised seat in one but can't seem...

    Epoxy

I am looking for suggestions on the brand of epoxy to use on a boat. I am still trying to settle on a design but when I do I want to get everything on hand to finish the boat and not have to wait on orders to come in. Don't want to stir up anything, just looking for what you're using and have...

    Cherry Beavertail Paddle Build

I epoxy the whole thing then finish it off with varnish for UV protection. I usually paddle for 12 miles or so in a day and haven't had a blister yet. Not into racing so that might change my mind on oil but for low to no maintenance, I'll stick to what I'm doing now.

Paddle on the Ogeechee 27 July

It's seems like it's feast or famine on our trips on the Ogeechee. Sometimes we only hear a few and other times we see everything. I leave out most of the songbirds as I can't name them.

Paddle on the Ogeechee 27 July

Rain chances were forecast at 50 percent with scattered thunderstorm due all day so what do we do, we schedule a paddle. We ain’t scared of no rain or storms. I met up with Nancy T. at Morgan’s bridge and was just starting to pull out when a young man I knew drove up with his son and three...
