Rob and I took to the water today.

I don't know tha area well. The last time I was there, I could wade waist deep with the yak trailing behind me on its leash. This time, there was a s***load of current and quite deep- yet the recent waterline was about 5ft. higher than today's, so I'm really not sure what would be "normal" for...

Cameras - What do you use.

Update from my original post: Now I use- Canon 5DMKII for anything needing a potential paycheck. Panasonic/Lumix TS3 for hiking, camping, kayaking, snorkling, diving, everything else. Both are simply amazing cameras.

    Trapping Crayfish for Bait

Bait? Sure they work well as bait, but maybe up for grabs as a backup main course! Here's a little something I wrote up. Does that help? http://briarpatchoutdoors.educationfort ... aps_1.html

    Tarps and Snake Skins.

I never loved the skins, but what I did was buy a cheapo stuff sack and put a grommet in the back side. I run my tag end of guy line out the grommet and out. I can hang that end and pull tarp out in two seperate moves. When comes time to pack up, I take tag end down, place sack at chest, and...

What do you use for camping...... And Why.

Option A: H. Hammock and poncho liner or hybrid blanket. Option B: Tarp over Sleeping bag or at least poncho- inside USGI bivi. Anymore, I always have the tarp on my pack anyway, though. Never know when it might come in handy. Once I couldn't find a dry spot in the backwater so I strung it...

    Winter camping in a hammock

I can't justify the funds for a store bought underquilt, but I DID take an old sleeping bag and bungee it to the bottom of mine and with me in another one only 3/4 zipped up, I slept quite toasty the last time I tried it, even though it only covered the very bottom of the hammock, apparently...

First trip for this year's warmer weather.

Sorry guys- I had major hurricane damage and just have not been on this site for a while. I'll work on that. Anyway, I went out with a friend and his son two weeks ago. Was his Son's first "real" camping trip, I believe. They had a Coleman Canoe and I had my Manta Ray Kayak. Took off late...

    Camp coffee

    Old Tools

OK, Dad and me used to get submerged cypress logs kinda like that. Most of those tools were pretty standart daily use stuff growing up on the farm, but what is that inverted horseshoe looking thing over your breaker box? Nice springboard, BTW.

    Low-Tech, Low Budget, Laptop Desk

Low-Tech, Low Budget, Laptop, Lap Desk Keith A. Williams “Bootlegger” Since my dinosaur of a desktop computer is in the critical stages of a slow death, I found myself in the market for a suitable replacement. After much research and debate, I came home with a brand new 17” HP Laptop, and...

Any Betty Page fans out yonder?

Well the story goes like this: She was meeting with an amateur photo club so that they could try shooting a human model, and one of them brought some studio lights. When done I met her downtown and we hit it off pretty well. Was about 12:30 before we got to shooting. Went to the old...

Any Betty Page fans out yonder?

Did a few test shoots the other day. Lighting was horrid, but results were not that bad. Some better than others though. http://photosbykw.smugmug.com/gallery/7 ... 5114_65ReT

    Today's Tiny Project.

Well after going through more types of hemostats, and other pliers than I would care to admit- I stumbled upon two pairs that work well for everything I can ask for for fishing work. Sure, I suppose that anything might do OK if one used the right tool for every job, but for me, I may start out...

    Anybody like old farm tractors?

After printing this one, I realized that there is an annoying red line on the backside of her right arm. Thought it was the processing, but turns out to be in the original photo. Must have been an off-camera reflection on her white skin. Going to try to do something about that when I get home.

    Anybody like old farm tractors?

Yep, you were right (of course). One of the later pictures shows the hand crank hole in the Farmall. Anybody like Pepsi Products? Wish I could find something similar for RC's. KAW.
