    Into the Ozello Keys.

Yep that is Ozello! I was out there the first day you went and I know that cause I saw your truck. I had paddled the Chazz that morning and made a paddle out of Ozello for about 3 hours that afternoon. But I was in my pastic kayak cause I did not want to have those Ozello Oysters scratch my...

    Keel runner on Pirogue?

I think they treat it different down after the arsenic scare came out a few years ago. Not sure about the oils in the wood and using epoxy. I only used the treated wood on my rub rails and did not use any epoxy on them, just varnish.

My UJ Pirogue is done! UPDATED with on the water shots

cctyer---To me the boat handles great and it is alot faster than my sit-on top kayak and to me just as stable. Mine ways 50lbs which may be a little heavy but that little extra weight helps in stability I would imagine. The only issue I had was paddling upstream in the swift current. It...

    Keel runner on Pirogue?

FlaMike if I was going to put a keel on my boat I would by a 16' pressure treated 2x4 and rip it down to the size I needed. Alot cheaper than buying 16' molding and you get the benefit of the wood being treated.

    Hey it floats!

Yeah the run was up a little but man the place has really been trashed by the swimmers and airboats that go up in there. I was going to go to Alexander run but there are more places to get out at Juniper. Might take it back out this evening for some Panfish fishing :D

My UJ Pirogue is done! UPDATED with on the water shots

Took the "Pee Ro" out for the first time this morning and I didn't sink!:D No seriously the boat did great and paddle just fine. I took it to Juniper Run and paddle down stream about a mile or so and then turned around. Of course go down stream was a breeze and coming back wasn't to bad...

My UJ Pirogue is done! UPDATED with on the water shots

OldYaker---The plywood came from my local Home Depot and is just the Luan stuff with Exterior grade glue. I guess it only took me 9 days because I worked on it day and night during that time. I tried to use the time wisely, like if I was waiting for epoxy to cure then I would be working on...

    FlaMike's Pirogue Build!

That is one heck of a cart there FlaMike! I made one for my plastic boats from PVC and lawnmower wheels. But i gave it away when i sold my Oldtown Yak cause I never used it. You need to make yours to where it will fold up inside of the boat kinda like landing gear on a plane :D

Things are coming together! **FINISHED** Lots of pics

I had to go thourgh about 30 sheets of plywood to find the two sheets I used from Home Depot. I went to Lowes and their Luan was horrable so I went back to Home Depot and got the 2 I had set aside. The boat turned out better than I thought it would and after breaking the center rib I was just...

Things are coming together! **FINISHED** Lots of pics

I just weighed it and it came in at 50lbs. The boat is 15' 4" on top and 13' 4" on the bottom. I was shooting for 14' on top so I guess I measure wrong somewhere but it should make the boat a little more stable.
